Rego-Fix, Omega TMM Tool Measuring Machine Improves Tooling Accuracy | Modern Machine Shop
Rego-Fix has collaborated with Omega TMM to create Orion, a tool measuring machine using Rego-Fix’s PowRgrip toolholding system with Omega TMM’s presetting technology.
Rego-Fix is partnering with Omega TMM to create the Orion tool measuring machine, which uses Rego-Fix’s PowRgrip toolholding system with Omega TMM’s presetting technology.
According to the companies, Orion was created based on customer requirements that demanded reliable and precise tooling with a simple-to-use and robust tooling system.
The Rego-Fix PowRgrip toolholding system creates heatless toolsetting in under 10 sec, according to the company. It uses a hydraulic press to insert specialized, shallow-tapered collets into toolholders with a matching taper. Its clamping force, vibration damping and precision, with toolholder-to-collet and collet-to-tool shank interfaces, can provide optimal accuracy and high-quality tooling from high-speed milling and drilling to coolant-free cutting.
Even when CNCs are equipped with automatic post-process gaging systems, there are always a few important adjustments that must be done manually. Don’t take operators understanding these adjustments for granted.
If you want to streamline production and be competitive in the industry, you will need far more than a standard three-axis CNC mill or two-axis CNC lathe and a few measuring tools.
Fixed-body mechanical plug gages provide fast, high-performance measurement for tight-tolerance holes.
